Dovetail refers to the style of notch that these corners are cut in. Dovetail Joinery by most accounts is a Scandinavian Style. The horizontal logs are typically flattened on 2 sides. the logs can be either fitted together or chinked. This distinctive style of log construction offers the client a contrast to the more horizontal surfaces in a scribed log house. This style also offers many variations in species and size of log and styles. A very ageless style of log construction that can either look very "pioneerish" or very modern depending on the finish.
